Australian chef Ross Shonhan’s debut in Abu Dhabi is what you might call a ‘hot one.’ Live flames seen from the open kitchen sync up with the beats of the DJ’s pumping tunes. Here, the focus is on Warayaki, where dishes are quickly ‘licked’ with burning straw. Must haves such as the prawn toast, miso-glazed Chilean sea bass and spaghetti Mentaiko are unique in flavour. The terrace is a good spot when the weather permits or you can sit by the open kitchen to enjoy some theatrics. The formula for a great evening here: dishes prepped tableside, bespoke cocktails, an array of sake and a delightful team.
