This spot in a retro drugstore still draws in a lively local crowd—not unlike neighboring sister, Pizzetta 211. The big and airy space is charming, as is the friendly staff, and a well-curated Italian-focused wine list and well-crafted cocktails are additional bonuses. The kitchen turns out a Cal-Italian menu, like rustic handkerchiefs in a creamy white Bolognese sauce, or caramelle filled with melty crescenza cheese and paired with smoked walnuts, chanterelles and brown butter. Vegetable lovers will find plenty to love on the menu, as in a roasted Japanese sweet potato paired with a miso tahini sauce and peanut salsa macha.
