Nestled in the countryside around Radovljica, Vila Podvin is both a restaurant and a hotel. The beautiful garden is one of its attractions, along with its fresh, strongly flavoured cuisine which showcases local, seasonal ingredients from the Upper Carniola, a region influenced by Italian, Slavic and Germanic traditions – a good example is the venison with bread dumplings, blueberries, carrots and pumpkin. The dining room is classic in style, plus there’s a niche with a few tables which is perfect for a romantic dinner. The wine list boasts a good selection of Slovenian and international wines, including some excellent vintages, while the service is both friendly and professional and perfectly in keeping with the classic setting.
